Nestle among the lush green trees in the Dandenong ranges, the ‘Piggery cafe’, one of the newest eateries in the area. This fancy rustic café is located in Sherbrooke where you get the feeling of country life as soon as you enter the premises.
Beautiful green lawns with ample space for children to play, the premises include Lawn bowls
Croquet and Bocce for adults. The scenery is breathtaking whether it is a cold wintery day or a hot summer day.
Even the wait is bit too long during weekends, the staff are really pleasant, friendly and helpful.
We start our meal with organic orange juice which is freshly squeeze and comes in rustic cup to match the atmosphere of the restaurant. The lobster roll is mouth-watering good and soft gold brioche bun is full of tasty lobster meat.
The delicious pork belly BLT comes with side salad, pork crackling and slow cooked meat, however the plate is messy and gives the impression that the food is thrown in to it with a rush.
The brioche roll filled with Merguez sausage, crispy onions and pickles comes with house fries, where the flavour combination is exquisite with the strong flavour of the sausage.
However the star of the day is Mark Eather Barramundi burger which accompanies house fries. The crispy crumbed Barra fillet is inside a soft brioche bun, where every bite makes you happy.
We finish our meal with coffee, where there is nothing really special to it. Our take away vanilla & blackberry with strawberry gel cheese cake is totally a different story. The creaminess of not so sweet cheese filling combined with blackberry, strawberry and buttery base underneath is an unstoppable affair.
